Case study

Service ChangeResidential

A full service upgrade, start to finish.

The challenge

A panel at capacity with no room to add a circuit, mixed conductor types from previous work and no reliable labelling — then the owner wants an EV charger or a hot tub, and the service cannot carry it.

What KT did

We work out what the service actually needs to carry before quoting anything, then change the service end to end — new load centre, corrected grounding and bonding, every circuit traced and labelled, and headroom deliberately left for what comes next.

Systems installed
  • Load calculation
  • New load centre
  • Meter base
  • Grounding and bonding
  • Circuit identification
  • Whole-home surge device
Outcome

The service carries the property with margin to spare, the panel is documented so the next electrician is not guessing, and the new circuit goes in without a second round of capacity work.
